Experience
I have tutored High school and 1st year university students in Australia and Netherlands since 1996 in Mathematics and Science (and also Music). Students have progressed through the international system of schools in Den Haag to study at universities in UK, USA, Canada and throughout Europe. My focus in teaching is for students to understand underlying topics and concepts, instead of rote-learning for examination marks. I find that is a better preparation for university and life, equipping them with problem solving and critical thinking skills that are prized by employers and researchers. Usually, the side-effect of this sort of deep understanding are high marks and a knowledge that is both flexible and adaptable.
