Hi! I am a public servant, masters graduate and writer with over a decade of experience tutoring students in a range of subjects. I like to get to know the student and think carefully and about what they'd like to achieve. I think deep listening, empathy and collaboration are the critical elements for successful tutoring. I help students to develop a stronger understanding of what is expected of them for their relevant assignments and exams. I like to nurture their existing strengths and find ways of drawing on those strengths to build confidence in other areas. I spend a lot of time focusing on grammar and expression, explaining the concepts as we go. This is critical not only in English but also in subjects such as art and philosophy, where complex ideas need to be clearly expressed. I have tutored in English, Art, Literature and Philosophy for over a decade. I've tutored students in primary school, high school and undergraduate university students. I love tailoring my approach to the needs of the individual student to get the best possible outcome. I have a particular interest in assisting students in the challenge of writing for art and design subjects I charge $100 an hour and tutor online via Zoom.
