Hi! My name is Ed and I'm in my second year of university studying a Bachelor of Law/Commerce at the ANU and a Bachelor of IT and Data Analytics at the University of South Australia. Before moving to Canberra to complete my degrees, I completed the IB Diploma Program at St Peter's College, Adelaide.
Experience
My tutoring approach is somewhat unique. I specifically prefer to tutor students in subjects that incorporate elements of philosophy, politics, and deeper thinking, i.e. History, EE, and ToK. My sessions primarily consist of discussion of the relevant content, paired with tried and tested methods of advanced essay/commentary writing. This style tends to suit students who are at the higher end of the grade boundary who want to push for top-marks in these subjects. In high school I completed the IB Diploma Program, graduating with a combined score of 40 (ATAR 98.30) and an A in Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay (History). I studied English Literature (HL), History (HL), Business Management (HL), Spanish ab initio (SL), Mathematics (SL), and SEHS (SL) - receiving a merit in Spanish ab initio and a grade-6 in my other subjects. I have experience tutoring students in Modern History (IB), English Literature (IB), and Theory of Knowledge (IB). For subjects with overlap, I am able to assist students in state-specific education programs other than the IB.
